Traditional chocolate mousse is a bit more complicated than the recipe below. We’ve kept the process super quick, simple and spontaneous to ensure your Valentine’s day dessert is stress-free. There’s nothing less romantic than stressful kitchen fretting, is there? This dark, luscious chocolate mousse has only two ingredients but don’t skimp on the chocolate—the higher the quality, the better the mousse.
Quick Chocolate Mousse for Two
1/2 cup whipping cream, chilled
1/2 small bar of good quality dark chocolate (1.5 ounces / 42 grams)
Whip the cream.
Over low heat, heat chocolate in a double boiler (a metal bowl set over a pot of simmering water) until just melted. Turn off the heat and stir. Scrape into whipped cream and whisk to combine. Cream will turn pale brown with no streaks remaining once it is properly blended. Spoon into little cups or glasses and chill in the fridge until ready to serve.
