Question: I’m hosting an Oktoberfest party. What kind of sausages should I serve?
Answer: While there are tons of fantastic sausages available (the list is endless), you can never go wrong keeping with tradition. There’s a reason certain sausages are associated with Oktoberfest—they go well with beer! I’d recommend serving German Bratwurst, also known as “farmers sausage,” to your Oktoberfest crowd. Bratwurst is a smoked pork sausage with awesome flavour; your guests will gobble it up! Another popular option is to serve Frankfurters. Known for their long, narrow shape, these traditional sausages are made with mildly seasoned pork and make for great finger food. Round out your serving of sausages with some delicious cheeses, hearty breads, pickles and mustard. And don’t forget the beer!
